JASON WILSON
Varsity Coach |
| Coach Wilson enters the 2011 baseball season as the new Varsity Coach for the Centennial Titans Baseball program. Coach Wilson had been the head baseball coach at Richardson Berkner since 2004, guiding a program that had fallen on hard times to the postseason each of the past two years. It was the first time in school history for Berkner to reach the playoffs in successive seasons. The team had advanced past the regular season just three times in the more than 30 years prior to his arrival.
A 1997 graduate of Lindenwood College, Wilson began his coaching career with his alma mater as a hitting coach. He was then the assistant baseball coach at Lake Highlands from 1999-2003. His first head coaching gig came the following season at DeSoto High School, where he spent the 2003-04 season before arriving at Berkner.
"In the past, I’ve had a lot of success with building programs and getting them to a higher level. I’m hoping we can take it to an even farther level. That was one of the attractions of the job. The pieces are in place with the group of kids I’m going to get and the talent they have. I feel like you can sustain success for a long period of time year after year. It’s just a great opportunity to be successful for a long time."
